Housing Co-operatives
The Housing Co-operative in Bielsk Podlaski has been looking after the housing estates in its town and ensuring the comfort of their residents for generations. As the co-operative has grown and residents’ expectations have changed, the need arose for a new website: one that is modern and tailored to the way we search for information today.
The aim was to create a space where residents could quickly find the most important information and where the co-operative’s staff could publish new content independently and effortlessly.

For the co-operative, the website is not a showcase, but a tool for day-to-day work. It is used by residents, members and companies taking part in tenders. The co-operative needed a website that is resident-friendly and provides easy access to the most important information about its activities.

The challenges we examined:

We built a new website for the co-operative from scratch, with one guiding principle: the co-operative should manage its own content.
Process
Key announcements on the homepage. We have placed them there so that residents can access them easily.
The ODK section. This promotes activities organised by the co-operative.
The FAQ section. This is intended to reduce the number of calls to the co-operative’s office.
A dedicated website control panel. The co-operative can add posts and information about itself independently.
📌 Key announcements on the homepage.
Posts are marked as ‘current’ or ‘closed’, and highlighted announcements (e.g. General Meeting) are displayed at the top so that residents can easily access the most important information.
📎 Clear and easy-to-read tenders.
The list shows the number of attachments, and the full set of documents is available on the relevant tender page, so that contractors do not miss any files.
📄 Documents to download.
Templates for letters and applications are all in one place, separate from legal acts, so that residents can quickly find the right template.
❓ FAQs based on real questions.
This section was created based on the questions residents most frequently ask via the eBOK system, to reduce the number of calls to the co-operative’s secretariat.
🎭 Estate Community Centre.
A dedicated section with news and a photo gallery to promote activities organised by the co-operative.
🇪🇺 KPO Exhibition.
EU logos are displayed at the top of the page, and EU-funded projects have a separate tab so that residents can see what the co-operative has achieved thanks to EU funding.
🔗 Link to eBOK.
The website links to the existing billing system rather than duplicating it, so that residents can access their accounts with a single click.
✏️ Dedicated website admin panel.
We have designed it to be intuitive for non-technical users, so that the co-operative can add posts and information independently.
📱 Fully responsive.
The website is designed primarily for mobile phones, ensuring it is easy to use on any device.

The new website is live at smbp.pl, and the co-operative’s team publishes content on it directly, without any intermediaries. The board has real control over what information is shared with residents and when. Residents and contractors can find notices, tenders, documents and responses all in one, easy-to-navigate place. The website is also set up to securely share internal documents in the next phase.
