The stack we build every site on

A fast front end, a CMS your team can use, and hosting we look after. Three parts, chosen so you can edit freely and still own your site.

Three parts

What sits under your website

Front end: Astro

Astro builds your site into plain static pages with almost no JavaScript, so it loads fast on phones. Every site builds on a shared, tested core that we keep up to date across all of them.

CMS: Bee CMS

Our own headless CMS. Block-based pages, every language in one panel, your brand colours set once and a built-in way for AI assistants to help.

Hosting: managed

Static pages on a CDN with automatic SSL and backups. Plans range from a simple static site to CMS plans with monitoring and a support SLA.

How it fits

From your edit to a live page

Your team edits in Bee CMS. When they publish, Astro rebuilds the site from the content API and the finished static pages go live on the CDN. Nothing runs on a server when a visitor arrives, which is why the pages are fast.

Why this stack

What it means for you

1

Fast by default

Almost no JavaScript reaches the visitor. On Kwalitet, moving from Webflow to Astro raised the mobile PageSpeed score from 24 to 89.

2

Easy to extend

The front end is a normal code project in a Git repository, so your own developer, or a coding assistant like Claude Code, can add to it.

3

No lock-in on the code

You own the code and can host it anywhere that serves static files. Your content can be exported on request.

4

Edited without a developer

Your team changes text, images and pages in Bee CMS, in every language, and your brand colours apply to every block.
